The Wiesbaden Library hosts author Kristal Lau who will read from her book, "Postpartum 30: Thirty Days to a Nurtured Fourth Trimester: A Balance of Traditional Chinese and Modern Postpartum Care" on July 16 from 1-3 p.m.

Lau, who grew up in Malaysia, has two children and chose to follow postpartum confinement practices for both. The physician who practiced medicine in Australia, also earned a Master's Degree in Public Health. Lau said she believes that the future of health lies in combining past and present knowledge about healing to meet the needs of a constantly evolving society.

During her presentation she will discuss the following topics:

  • How to finish a manuscript's first draft as a busy military spouse
  • How writing a book can boost one's career and business
  • How writing a book is an unconventional method of self- and professional development
